Magnolia-licious Summer Blog Hop!

Hope you have fun on the Magnolia-licious Summer Blog Hop!  If you came here from Suzi's  beautiful blog, you are in the right place!    If you are just starting, you may want to go HERE to the beginning .
For my project today, I made a few things for my new grandson's upcoming baby shower.  The theme we are going with is Ahoy, It's A Boy.  His bedroom is anchors and whales, so we decided to have that theme for the shower, too.   : )

I used the Grooms Bow Doohickey die for the bow on the mason jars that I etched with his last name initial.  I found polka dotted paper straws to complete the look for the beverages.  I spray painted mason jars with blue and white stripes for the vases for the centerpieces.  I then added an anchor that I had cut on my Cricut and a Doohickey Tea Label tag for the sentiment.  I put brads and eyelets on the anchor and tied everything on with twine.  Then it was ready to add the hydrangea.  After that, I took the anchor cut out and used it as a stencil to paint the anchors on the fringed burlap squares to put under the centerpieces.  I then made place cards using Little Cute Edwin Magnolia stamp.

I spray painted a little wicker basket with blue and white spray paint to use for the whale pencils I found for the games we are going to play at the shower.  I made the anchor out of Plaster of Paris and sprayed the shape with silver spray paint.  I then glued some twine on it and glued it to the basket.  I used heavy cardboard to make a tag and also spray painted that.  I used Edwin and Tin Tin the Dog  and also stamped the Magnolia Postcard stamps on it.  I then added it to the basket with twine and a button.  This also shows the place card with Little Cute Edwin.

Lastly, I made a guestbook.  I used my Cricut for the anchor and added eyelets, twine, and a Doohickey Tea Label tag.  I then embossed an M for his last name initial on the bottom of the anchor and sponged some antique linen distress ink on it to make it pop a bit.  I used Christmas Eve Edwin for the tag and stamped around everything with the Magnolia Postcard stamp set.  I hope you are enjoying the blog hop!  Your next stop is the incredible blog of Cathy!
